Folding phone development trend:
With its innovative form and immersive large-screen experience, folding screen cell phone has achieved sustained high-speed growth against the backdrop of the overall decline in industry shipments, with China's folding screen cell phone shipments increasing by 154% year-on-year in 2022; and with the successive entry of domestic vendors and product iteration, it is estimated that the folding screen cell phone shipments in 2025 will exceed 16 million units.
IDC pointed out that in the first three quarters of this year, Huawei steadily ranked first in this market share, amounting to 31.7%, with obvious advantages; OPPO ranked second, with a share of 17.9%, of which in the vertical folding product market ranked first in the current quarter (25.0%); Samsung still has strong competitiveness in the folding-screen cell phone market, ranked third, and occupies a market share of 15.4%; Honor gained 15.1% market share: three products were released in a row in the third quarter, of which Magic V2 became the No. 1 folding screen single product market share in the quarter by virtue of its strong product power; Vivo was ranked fifth, with a share of 12.7%, and the X Flip continued to be a hot seller for half a year after it was launched; Xiaomi's market share was 5.2%, and the first sale of the MIX Fold3 was significantly better than the previous generation's product; Lenovo market share of 2.0%.

Because foldable phones have the characteristic of being able to continuously fold and unfold, OCA needs to be able to make the folded parts combined, and therefore requires difficult technology to ensure that at least 200,000 times of folding conditions, the screen in the folded and unfolded state can be kept flat, no bubbles and no wrinkles. At the same time, OCA optical adhesive also needs to have higher durability and reliability. Folding OCA has high shear strain capacity, which can protect each functional layer of the cell phone screen from being constrained by neighboring layers when folding, avoiding the functional layer from fracture or debonding, and guaranteeing the relatively independent sliding space of different functional layers, thus guaranteeing the bending resistance of the folded cell phone and reducing the frequency of failures.
