The 2023 China-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation and "Double-country Parks" project sharing roundtable was held in Nanning, Guangxi on Sunday. The reporter learned at the meeting that in recent years, China and ASEAN "double-country parks" construction cooperation achievements have been landing, and the parks of both sides have been improving industrial interconnection, facilities interconnection and policy reciprocity under the "double-country park" pair cooperation mechanism, becoming a new highland for China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation. "Double-country parks" refers to a new type of production capacity cooperation in which two sovereign states set up parks in each other's territory and promote joint development. The meeting was co-hosted by the China-ASEAN Center, the People's Government of Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Province, China, and the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Government officials from China, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries, as well as the "double-country park" management committee and project owners, entrepreneurs, experts and scholars attended the event.

 Themed "Seeking development through industrial cooperation, making concerted efforts to promote win-win cooperation", the participants shared and exchanged views on how to better promote the construction of China-ASEAN "double-country parks" and jointly promote the in-depth integration of industrial chain, supply chain and value chain.

As a major inter-governmental cooperation project directly initiated and personally promoted by the leaders of China and Malaysia, the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park has been listed as a major project in the national "One Belt and One Road" planning. The Park aims to build a cross-border international production capacity cooperation demonstration zone and drive the industrial cluster development of the two countries. Combining with local resources and industrial development, the Park is based on China-ASEAN and oriented to the Asia-Pacific region, and is creating characteristic industries. The Park focuses on the development of steel and nonferrous metals, machinery and equipment manufacturing, clean energy and renewable energy, processing trade and logistics, electrical and electronic information industry, and scientific and technological research and development.

 China-Indonesia "Double Parks" are based on the Yuanhong Investment Zone in Fuzhou, Fujian Province and the Mindan Industrial Park in Indonesia as carriers. It explores the establishment of a cooperation mechanism of industrial interconnection, mutual access of facilities and mutual benefit of policies. It adopts a new production capacity cooperation mode of establishing parks in each other's territory and joint development, aiming to promote the complementary advantages of the two countries, revitalize the advantageous resources of the two countries, improve the relevant industrial chains and supply chains of the two countries, and promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges. The "Double Parks" cooperation focuses on marine fishery, mining development, infrastructure construction, cultural tourism and other fields, and explores the potential of cooperation in clean energy, new materials, textile and other fields.
