Recently, the City University of Hong Kong held a seminar on "City University Distinguished Lectures and the 15th Anniversary of the School of Energy and Environment: Global Sustainable Development and Energy Innovation", which was attended by Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Global Green Growth Institute and its Council Chairman. Mr. Xie Zhanhuan, Secretary for the Environment and Ecology of Hong Kong, and Mr. Qiu Genda, a representative from the Legislative Council's Science and Technology Innovation Committee, along with other political and business representatives, also delivered speeches. The event brought together elites from all walks of life to discuss global issues of green innovation and sustainable development, and to witness the 15-year achievements of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at CityU.

As a technology-based enterprise originating from the Energy and Environment College of the City University of Hong Kong, the establishment of Chuangleng Technology has a profound connection with the college. Professor Cao Zhiyin, co-founder of the company, is currently the vice president of the college (international affairs and expansion), and has been committed to promoting the transformation of scientific research results; Professor Zhu Yihao, CEO and co-founder of Chuangleng Technology, has grown from a doctoral graduate of the college to an entrepreneur who dares to make breakthroughs. They lead the team to bring the technology of non-electric refrigeration from the college to a broader market. Mr. Xie Zhanhuan, Secretary for the Environment and Ecology of Hong Kong, attended the event and delivered a speech, saying that Hong Kong, as an international city, is actively taking on the responsibility of global sustainable development and promoting the wide application of green technology. The government has been at the forefront of energy conservation, setting a goal of increasing the energy efficiency of the entire government by 6% by 2024-2025. By 2022-2023, an improvement of 5.3% has been achieved. Currently, Hong Kong's energy intensity has decreased by over 30%. Recently, under the advocacy of the Hong Kong Environment and Ecology Bureau and the support of the Hong Kong Architectural Services Department, the electric-free cooling coating of Chuangleng Technology was applied to the rooftop of the Hong Kong Coliseum (Red Hall) on a large scale, which is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 150 tons per year.

The School of Energy and Environment of the City University of Hong Kong was established in 2009. It is the first school in Hong Kong to focus on energy and environment, and is one of the few similar academic institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Since its establishment, the Academy has been promoting sustainable development in Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region around key issues such as energy supply, energy conservation and emission reduction, and climate change.
