 On December 3, 2023, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary celebration of East China University of Science and Technology Business School, Dr. Cao Longjun, founder of REAL NEW MATERIAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY COMPANY LIMITED, was invited to visit the Xuhui Meilong campus of East China University of Science and Technology. With the theme of "Thinking on Sustainable Development Path of Manufacturing from the Perspective of Global Value Chain", he communicated with MEM and MBA alumni and sorted out the evolution of international division of labor in the world economic pattern under the global value chain and the sustainable development path of enterprises.

 The global economy has developed from a single industry category in the past to a diversified and international division of labor and cooperation of the whole industry chain. Compared with the traditional specialization at the product manufacturing level, task specialization on the value chain is a more refined specialization, which further improves the efficiency of resource allocation and promotes the progress of labor productivity and economic growth of all countries participating in the value chain. The traditional enterprise supply chain goals generally focus on income increase, cost reduction and risk control, while the new enterprise supply chain represented by sustainable green supply chain focuses on "net zero", "recycling" and "trust", which play a key role in the enterprise end to the supply chain. Sustainable green supply chain is the future direction. Enterprises that hope to win in the future competition cannot only focus on the traditional supply chain goals, but should further build a sustainable supply chain on the basis of meeting the traditional goals, and promote sustainable development of enterprises by exploring new business models. With the help of the corresponding technology platform, the concept of sustainable development can be quickly transformed into a feasible implementation path, so as to reshape the enterprise supply chain into a value chain, release commercial potential, and lead the sustainable development and growth of enterprises.
