LANXESS at China's biggest adhesives and sealants exhibition

2023-10-16
Specialty chemicals company LANXESS and its LANXESS Polyurethane Systems Business Unit participated in the 26th China International Adhesives and Sealants Exhibition in Shanghai from September 4 to 6, bringing three innovative series of low free (LF) polyurethane prepolymers, solvent-free and end-seal systems.Zhang Zhenglei, vice president of the Polyurethane Systems Business Unit, said: "LANXESS Polyurethane Systems Business Unit is a global leader in the professional supplier of polyurethane systems for elastomers, coatings, adhesives and sealants. It is particularly committed to developing low free polyurethane prepolymers, solvent-free and end-seal systems, and brings customers decades of accumulated polyurethane chemical expertise, comprehensive application technology and profound manufacturing experience.
During the exhibition, LANXESS displayed low free (LF) polyurethane prepolymers, which are one of the most distinctive series of products of LANXESS.Low free (LF) polyurethane prepolymers not only meet strict occupational safety and industrial hygiene standards, but also have excellent performance advantages. Specifically, one of the key performances of polyurethane elastomers is microphase separation. Using low free technology can precisely design the prepolymer (such as the ratio of soft to hard segments) to achieve a better degree of microphase separation. Therefore, Lanxess can easily customize the design according to the needs of customers, so that the tear resistance, wear resistance and mechanical properties of the final product are improved to a certain extent, and help customers produce better performance elastomers.
In addition to low free (LF) polyurethane prepolymers, Lanxess also brings solvent-free and end-seal systems to meet the needs of adhesives and sealants in various industries.

The solvent-free system products include: Witcobond® water-based polyurethane dispersion (PUD), which can be used for adhesives and sealants; Royalbond® polyurethane bonding system, which can reduce the amount of solvent in recycled foam; Trixene® SC polyurethane prepolymer, which has low viscosity and is liquid at room temperature; Quasilan® polyurethane prepolymer, which is used for laminated adhesives, adhesives, track and field, playground and industrial adhesives. In addition, the solvent-free related products on display are Quasilan RB series modified castor oil polyols and dehydrators. Modified castor oil can provide excellent performance for structural adhesives and potting adhesives, and has optional reactive activity, which can provide solutions for different open time systems. As for dehydrators, Trixene ASF and AS can be used as dehydrators for one-component moisture-cured adhesive systems. TrixeneAS, with the unique low free technology of Lanxess Chemistry, has no peculiar smell and better performance than traditional dehydrators. Lanxess also brings a rich end-cap system, including Adiprene BL-terminated TDI prepolymer (MEKO termination) for abrasives; Trixene BI-terminated TDI prepolymer with cashew phenol as a termination agent; one-component adhesive that can be designed as a thermal de-sealing agent; Trixene BI-terminated isocyanate crosslinker; and tougheners for epoxy resins, such as epoxy structural adhesive, epoxy tile adhesive, etc. The related end-cap products are widely used in electronic products, automobiles, power batteries and other fields.
